String musical instrument
The present invention is directed to the field of string musical instruments, such as, for example, guitars, among others.
Particularly, the present invention refers to a stringed musical instrument, of the type comprising an instrument body, a mast and a pegbox, the mast and the instrument body being coupled by respective coupling parts conjugated together, said parts being fixed for coupling the mast and the body by means of at least one main bolt inserted through a hole common to said coupling parts, said musical instrument comprising a mechanism for regulating the angular position of said mast with respect to said instrument body.
In the music sector, musicians increasingly require musical instruments that can be customized and that can be adapted to the way in which these instruments are played. On many occasions custom musical instruments are produced, such as for example guitars, at the express request of the musicians. Even, sometimes musicians ask for the replacement of certain parts of guitars with others to experience new sounds and / or to better adapt to the way they play. However, the use of custom made musical instruments entails high costs that not every musician can afford.
On the other hand, the existing guitars in the market do not allow the exchange of some parts of them for others. For example, the neck of the guitar usually cannot be replaced, among other reasons, due to the dimensional instability of the wood of the neck. For this reason, there are mechanisms that allow the angular position of the guitar's neck to be adjusted relative to the body of the guitar. For example, the Spanish patent application document ES2578268A1 discloses a device comprising two conjugated serrated surfaces, one fixed to the mast and the other fixed to the body of the guitar, pressed together by means of a bolt. The device allows the user to modify the inclination of the mast with respect to the body of the guitar, adopting discrete inclinations determined by the geometry of said jagged. Since the sound of the instrument, usually made of wood, is noticeably affected with sensitive variations in the inclination of the mast, the low versatility of the positions predetermined by the geometry of the teeth does not allow the angular position of the mast to be varied at all angles and, therefore, it does not allow to adapt to the taste of all musicians.
The present invention aims to solve the aforementioned problems of the prior art and to disclose a string musical instrument with a regulation mechanism and subsequent fixation of the angular position of the mast with respect to the body of the instrument that offers improved regulation and fixation. with respect to prior art systems.
In particular, the present invention discloses a stringed musical instrument according to the main claim 1. Said stringed musical instrument is of the type comprising an instrument body, a mast and a pegbox, the mast and the instrument body being coupled by respective coupling parts conjugated to each other and said coupling parts of the mast and body being fixed by at least one

main bolt inserted through a hole common to said coupling parts. Said stringed musical instrument further comprises a mechanism for the regulation and fixation of the angular position of said mast with respect to said instrument body which is characterized by comprising, on the one hand, a metal projection fixed on a metal insert disposed inside of the coupling part of the mast, and, on the other hand, a metal part defining a receiving groove of said metal projection, said metal part being partially inserted in the coupling part of the instrument body, said projection being and said recess conjugated and aligned with each other but without any contact between them, and said recess additionally comprising a sufficient clearance to allow varying the angular position of the mast with respect to the instrument body by displacing the projection along said recess.
On the one hand, the metal projection allows guiding along the clearance of the groove of the metal part, allowing to ensure an efficient alignment between the respective coupling parts of the mast and of the instrument body that respectively comprise said projection and The aforementioned cleft. Likewise, the structure of the projection conjugated with the groove achieves, on the one hand, a regulation or variation of the relative position between the mast and the instrument body continuously and by a precise and fine adjustment.
On the other hand, being the set of elements, which intervene in the regulation and fixing mechanism of the present invention, of metallic type allows to reinforce the mechanism in its fixation position by tightening the main bolt against the vibrations produced during use. of the musical instrument itself. The fact that the respective coupling parts of the mast and body comprise metal elements that are fixed in a certain position by tightening the main bolt that is inserted through holes common to said metal elements reinforces the fixing mechanism against said vibrations. .
In addition, being the set of elements that intervene in the regulation and fixing mechanism of the present invention of metallic type allows to quickly, comfortably and efficiently exchange different masts with the same body of a musical instrument.
Additionally, both the metal projection and the metal part comprising the groove along which said projection can move to allow continuous variation of the angular position of the mast with respect to the instrument body do not come into contact at any time during the actuation of the regulation mechanism and only the respective coupling parts of the mast and body that are usually made of wood are in contact, the latter being the essence of the sound of a guitar.
Preferably, the coupling part of the mast and the metal projection inserted therein are convex and the coupling part of the instrument body and the metal part comprising the groove are concave such that the center of rotation of the angular position of the Mast with respect to the instrument body coincides with the same plane defined by the strings once arranged in said musical instrument. In this way, it is avoided to maintain the pressure of the ropes on the regulating mechanism according to the present invention.
Preferably, both the metal projection and the metal part comprise openings coinciding with the respective holes of the respective coupling parts of the mast and the body, allowing access of said main bolt.

Preferably, said metal part further comprises a housing with an auxiliary bolt with a ball-type end acting as a variable stop of said projection and an actuating head to vary the position of said auxiliary bolt. Optionally, the auxiliary bolt allows fine tilt adjustment
or variation of the relative position between the neck and the body of the guitar. In addition, it also provides additional reinforcement and stability to the mechanism according to the present invention, against the vibrations caused by the strings during the use of the stringed musical instrument. More preferably, the instrument body comprises an access hole to the head of said auxiliary bolt allowing its actuation by means of an Allen key or the like.
Preferably, the metal projection is fixed to said metal insert by at least one bolt inserted by a hole common to said projection and to said insert different from the main bolt hole.
Preferably, the hole disposed in the mast through which the main bolt is inserted is of the threaded type.
For a better understanding of the invention, some figures of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention are attached by way of explanatory but not limiting example.
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a string musical instrument, in this case, a guitar, comprising a mechanism for regulating and fixing the angular position of the mast with respect to the body of said guitar according to the present invention.
Figure 2 shows a perspective view of a detail of the back of the guitar of Figure 1.
Figure 3 shows a perspective view of a detail of the body of the guitar of Figure 1 in which the metal part defining a reception groove of said metal projection is observed.
Figure 4 shows a perspective view of a detail of the neck of the guitar of Figure 1 in which the metal projection of the mast is observed.
Figures 5 and 6 show two longitudinal sections along the longitudinal axis of the mast showing in each of the figures a different angular position between the mast and the guitar body.
In the exemplary embodiment of Figure 1, a guitar -10-comprising a mast -20-coupled to a body -30-by means of respective coupling parts (-200-, -300-) of the mast -20-y is observed of the body -30conjugated to each other comprising a regulation and fixing mechanism according to the present invention. As will be seen below, said respective coupling parts (-200-, -300-) of the mast -20- and of the body -30- comprise respective surfaces (-210-, -220-) (-310-, -320 -) of contact between said coupling parts (-200-, -300-). The body -30-of the guitar -10-presents (see figure 2) a metal part -31-receiving a metal projection -21- (see figure 4). The metal receiving part -31-comprises an opening -32 '- (see figures 2 and 3) which, as will be explained in detail below, allows the introduction of a main -32-bolt, the head remaining -32' '- of said bolt -32-main in sight from the bottom of the guitar -10- (see figure 2). Additionally, the coupling part -200-of the mast -20- and the protrusion -21 metal inserted therein are convex and the coupling part -300-of the body -30- and the metal part

-31-comprising the groove -34-are concave such that the center of rotation of the angular position of the mast -20-with respect to the body -30-coincides with the same plane defined by the ropes once arranged in the neck -20-of the guitar -10-. In this way, it is avoided to maintain the pressure of the ropes on the regulating and fixing mechanism according to the present invention.
As can be seen in figure 3, optionally the metal receiving part -31-can comprise a housing -35-with a threaded surface in which a self-locking nut -33-is disposed, whose threaded interior has a bolt -33 '' - auxiliary (see figures 5 or 6) which, as will be explained later, can either act as a variable stop of said metal projection -21-, or it may allow fine adjustment of the relative position between body -30- and neck -20-of the guitar -10-. As can be seen in figures 5 or 6, said receiving part -31 allows the user to access the bolt -33 '' - auxiliary through a hole -33'-auxiliary (see also figures 2, 5 and 6), reaching thus the head (not illustrated) of said bolt -33 '' - auxiliary, which has a form capable of receiving an Allen key or the like, allowing the position of said bolt -33 '' - auxiliary to be varied. Additionally, said self-locking nut -33- may comprise a nylon insert as a brake (not illustrated) allowing the auxiliary bolt -33 '' - to move or loosen with the vibrations produced during the use of the guitar - 10-.
On the other hand, the projection -21- (see figure 4) comprises a second opening -22'-which also allows the introduction of said main bolt -32-in a threaded hole -23-arranged in the mast -20- (see Figures 5 or 6) which coincides with said second opening -22'-. Thus, when the projection -21-is in a facing position against the receiving part -31-, the main bolt -32-can pass through both the opening -32'-of the part -31-and the opening -22 ' -of the projection -21-to enter the hole -23-threaded (see figures 5 or 6) of the mast -20-and, thus, to fix an angular position of the mast -20-with respect to the body -30-of the guitar -10-by means of their respective surfaces (-210-, -220-) (-310-, -320-) of contact between said coupling parts (-200-, -300-) respectively of the mast -20-y of the body -30-. Therefore, the tightening of the main bolt -32-presses the surfaces (-210-, -220-) of the coupling part -200-of the mast -20-against the surfaces (-310-, -320-) of the coupling part -300-of the body -30-, facing the projection -21 against the receiving part -31-without contact between them, fixing the angular position of the mast -20-with respect to the body -30-of the guitar -10 -.
As can be seen in Figure 3, the piece -31-for receiving the projection -21- comprises a recess -34 destined to receive said projection -21-. Said projection -21- and said recess -34- are conjugated and aligned with each other but without any contact between them, as seen in Figures 3 to 6. Additionally, said recess -34- additionally comprises a sufficient clearance to allow vary the angular position of the mast -20-with respect to the body -30-of the guitar -10-by moving the projection -21-along said groove -34-. In this way, the projection -21-allows guiding along the clearance of the recess -34-of the receiving part -31-, allowing in turn to ensure efficient alignment between the respective coupling parts (- 200-, -300-) respectively of the mast -20- and of the body -30- which respectively comprise said projection -21- and said recess -34-. Likewise, the structure of the projection -21-conjugated with the groove -34-achieves, on the one hand, a regulation or variation of the relative position between the mast -20- and the body -30-continuously and by a precise adjustment and fine, instead of moving from one particular position to another abruptly or by discrete inclinations.
The main -32-bolt (see figures 5 and 6) allows to keep the projection -21-positioned in an angular position

with respect to the recess -34-of the part -31-thanks to the fact that the tightening of the bolt -32-main presses the surfaces (-210-, -220-) of the coupling part -200-of the mast -20- against the surfaces (-310-, -320-) of the coupling part -300-of the body -30-, fixing the angular position of the mast -20-with respect to the body -30-of the guitar -10-.
In case you want to proceed to vary the angular position of the mast -20-with respect to the body -30-of the guitar -10-, you must first loosen the bolt -32-main and then position the mast in the desired angular position with respect to the body -30- that allows the dimension of the clearance of the slit -34-. Said angular positioning of the mast -20-with respect to the body -30-may be done either manually, or acting on the bolt -33 ’- auxiliary.
To adjust or adjust the angular position of the mast -20-with respect to the body -30-of the guitar -10-by acting on the bolt -33 '' - auxiliary, first the aforementioned bolt -32-main is loosened and then the bolt -33 '' - auxiliary, whose end has a ball -36- that comes into contact with the projection -21- is acted on (see figures 5 and 6). When acting on the aforementioned bolt -33 '' - auxiliary, the ball -36-pushes the projection -21-that slides through the groove -34-so that the angular position of the mast -20-with respect to the body -30 -wind continuously and by fine adjustment. Subsequently, by tightening the main bolt -32-again it is possible to fix the relative position achieved between the neck -20- and the body -30-of the guitar -10-.
As can be seen in Figures 5 and 6, on the one hand, the metal projection -21 is fixed by means of respective bolts (-41-, -42-) on a metal insert -40 arranged inside the -200-part of mast coupling. Thus, being the set of elements that intervene in the regulation and fixing mechanism of the present invention of metallic type, it allows to reinforce the mechanism itself in its fixation position by tightening the main bolt -32-against the vibrations produced while using the guitar itself -10-. The fact that the coupling parts (-200-, -300-) respectively of the mast -20- and of the body -30-comprise metal elements that are fixed in a certain position by tightening the main bolt -32-which is inserted through holes common to said metal elements reinforces the fixing mechanism against the aforementioned vibrations.
Figures 5 and 6 show two different positions of the mast -20-in relation to the body -30-of the guitar -10-, the mast -20-of Figure 6 being inclined a certain angle -A-relative to the position of Figure 5. As can be seen, the main bolt -32-rotates in solidarity with the projection -21-relative to the receiving part -31-.
